Open a PST file directly
Choose a PST file, or drop it onto the MailRelic window. The folder tree appears and you can start reading while the search index is built in the background. Nothing is imported into Outlook or copied into another mail program.

Read messages and attachments
Each message shows its sender, recipients, dates and body. Images that would load from the internet are blocked. Contacts, calendar items, tasks and notes stored in the archive are shown too, and attachments can be saved one at a time.
Search the whole archive
Search covers every folder, not only the one that is open. Type words to search message
text, or narrow the results with filters such as from:,
subject:, folder:, after:2019-01-01 and
has:attachment.
Export email to EML or MBOX
Any single message can be saved as an .eml file from the message view, free. With MailRelic Personal, the Export dialog exports a selection, a folder or the whole archive in one job:
- EML: one .eml file per message, in folders that match the archive.
- MBOX: one .mbox file per folder, which Thunderbird can import.
- Attachments: every attachment saved as a file.

Your PST file stays on your computer
MailRelic reads the archive on your computer and does not upload the PST, its messages or its attachments. It opens the file read-only, so viewing, searching and exporting do not change it. Exports are written to a folder you choose.
The application connects to the internet only to activate or check a MailRelic Personal licence. The privacy page lists what that sends.

Do I need Outlook to use MailRelic?
No. MailRelic reads PST files itself, so Outlook does not need to be installed and the PST does not have to be added to an Outlook profile.
Which files can MailRelic open?
Unicode PST files, the format Outlook 2003 and later versions create. Older ANSI PST files from Outlook 97 to 2002 are not supported, and neither are OST files. MailRelic does not repair damaged PST files.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The PST file, its messages and its attachments are read on your computer and are not sent anywhere. MailRelic goes online only to activate or check a MailRelic Personal licence.
What does $39 buy?
